(CNN) — A tornado touched down near Natalia, a city in south-central Texas on Monday, the National Weather Service said, as a slow-moving line of storms swept eastward, bringing with it the threat of high winds, heavy rains and large hail.

Parts of north, south and central Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth area, were under a tornado watch, while a tornado warning was in effect for southern sections of San Antonio, the weather service said.
