It has only been a little more than a week since a rare November snowfall greeted the South. Now, many of the same residents affected last week will see snowflakes flying yet again into Wednesday.

The same storm system set to spread travel-disrupting snow from North Carolina to Maine Wednesday into Thursday will bring these next snowflakes to the South.

Tonight, a light mix of rain and snow is expected to break out from eastern Oklahoma to western Tennessee and northern Mississippi. Little Rock, Ark., and Memphis, Tenn., are among the cities where snowflakes could be flying tonight.

Rain overspreading areas farther south and east through central and southern Mississippi, northern Alabama and Tennessee tonight will taper off to a mix of rain and snow showers Wednesday. Even Jackson, Miss., could have a light mix of rain and snow.

Little or no snow accumulation is expected throughout the southern Plains and interior Southeast through Wednesday. It will just be higher elevations of far eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina that pick up any snow of consequence.
